Company Overview

Catalyst is a global nonprofit supported by many of the world’s most powerful CEOs and leading companies to help build workplaces that work for women. Founded in 1962, Catalyst drives change with preeminent thought leadership, actionable solutions, and a galvanized community of multinational corporations to accelerate and advance women into leadership—because progress for women is progress for everyone.

Mission, Vision, Values

Our mission, vision, and values are grounded in 60 years of experience in making change. Now, corporate leaders have an unprecedented opportunity and challenge: to reimagine the workplace so that it is truly inclusive. Those who don’t participate in The Great Reimagining will lose out on talent and may find themselves left behind. Only through more equitable and inclusive workplaces can we truly make work, work for women—and for everyone.

Our Mission
Catalyst accelerates progress for women through workplace inclusion.

Our Vision
Catalyst believes that workplaces that work for women work for everyone.

Our Values
We infuse all our work with respect, collaboration, accountability, and impact.

How We Hire

We seek individuals from diverse backgrounds, and we are committed to providing a workplace that respects and celebrates diversity. We’re searching for individuals who are innovative, collaborative, and agile. In order to find the best fit, we have a thorough screening and interview process. The way we conduct interviews supports our global focus: we use video conferencing and other technologies to meet candidates from all over the world. Qualified candidates will be contacted to begin the interview process by one of our Human Resources professionals.

We want to make sure that every hire is set up for success at Catalyst. We want to know what makes you who you are. In order to make sure Catalyst is a place where you’ll flourish, we’ll be looking for signs of your comfort level with progress, change, and diversity and inclusion.

How You’ll Thrive

Catalyst is a global organization with headquarters in New York and offices in Canada and Europe and boots on the ground in the Asia Pacific region. We have a strong virtual workforce who can deliver results from anywhere. We nurture and support talent from diverse backgrounds and covet unique perspectives and ideas. Our values as an organization: Respect, Collaboration, Accountability, and Impact. We develop each other through frequent HR contact, individualized plans and goals, budgets for courses to acquire or strengthen skills, collaboration and communication within departments and our staff at large, and company-wide events.

Catalyst strives to be an employer of choice, and flexibility is a critical tool to achieve this end. Adapting work schedules to fit the work and personal lives of Catalyst employees is increasingly important given our growing global workforce. We have seen that flexibility can help extend staff coverage, meet Supporter needs, reduce employee absenteeism, increase productivity, improve morale, and ultimately help Catalyst embody our mission.

To that end, Catalyst offers generous paid time off to ensure work-life effectiveness. All permanent staff members receive personal days, sick days, vacation, winter break, holidays, and even a day off for their birthdays.

Your interests and needs evolve over your lifetime. Likewise, we evaluate our benefits regularly and adapt them to the requirements of our changing population. You are valuable to us, and our benefits demonstrate that. Our benefits packages exist to make sure that you are taken care of. Your family matters to you, so they’re important to us. We have a number of benefit programs to support you and your loved ones through life’s various stages and challenges.

Diversity and Inclusion at Catalyst

Diversity and inclusion are our bread and butter: central to our values, our long history, our vision, our strategies, and our continued success. Catalyst has a long-standing history of commitment to diversity and inclusion that is reflected in both external recognition and internal efforts. All of our efforts are designed to help us attract, recruit, select, develop, and retain the most talented and diverse people from the broadest range of people, backgrounds, and perspectives.  We seek superlative people from diverse backgrounds and traditions who vary by their race and ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, nationality, culture, religion, marital and family status, current unemployment status, physical and mental abilities, age, veteran status, genetics, or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local laws. Together we create and maintain an atmosphere that welcomes new ideas—even unpopular and controversial ones—and encourages an effective and active exchange of views in an environment of mutual respect. We also strive to remove sources of unconscious bias, and will seek to correct situations where a full and open exchange of ideas has been limited.
