The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning and control products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GPS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance.
Trimble is recruiting a Engineering Lab Technician to fill an opportunity in Dayton, OH.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Engineering Lab Technician to champion the Caterpillar Trimble Controls Technology joint venture (CTCT) The selected individual will be responsible for assigned projects and tasks related to electrical testing on system components and parts. This individual will be expected to utilize electronic and organizational skills to provide detailed testing reports.
Key Responsibilities
Work with project owners and engineering personnel to perform testing on products and equipment to ensure correct functionality.
Build prototype components and other related items such as breadboards.
Provide detailed analytical reporting of assigned projects.
Assist in Laboratory upkeep, and other assigned tasks.
Collaborate with Engineering and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications / Skills
Education: Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) preferred. Relative electronic work will be considered.
Strong Mechanical skills & aptitude as well as manual dexterity to work well in a bench test environment.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and system drawings.
Demonstrates patience when running multiple tests while providing attention to detail.
Self-motivated and team player / schedule conscious when performing multiple tasks is highly desirable.
Excellent problem solving skills in analysis and ability to recognize improvement opportunities.
Proficient in use of conventional lab test equipment and tooling. such as multimeters, hand and calibration tools.
Proficient in computer skills / Proprietary databases - Google Applications.
Excellent analytical, verbal communication and technical writing skills.
