Crisis Intervent Screener Per Diem Nights
POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide on-call crisis intervention services to patients in the Emergency Department, which includes screening, crisis intervention counseling, discharge planning, and pre-certification for admissions. Also, to function as a member of the professional healthcare delivery team as needed.
EDUCATION:
Masters degree in social work from an accredited program with at least 1 year of psychiatric crisis experience OR Masters degree in education, psychology, or related field with certification as a Crisis Intervention Screener or at least 2 years of psychiatric crisis experience OR Registered Nurse degree from an accredited NLN program with at least 1 year psychiatric crisis experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Utilization management experience preferred

Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to follow-through using appropriate channels of communication. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and the changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes, and those who are dying. Ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Lab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve.
