This leader will serve as the category CFO for the $2B Soup and Broth category. The leader will manage the category P&L from gross sales to EBIT.This individual will be responsible for driving strong financial performance for the category through high-quality decision support, sales and margin management, resource allocation decisions, and thoughtful insight and perspective to help deliver strategic category plans, annual operating plans, and financial projection objectives.The individual will also lead / conduct financial analysis and modeling for major business initiatives, including financial impacts of capital investments.The individual will help lead the cross-functional team, bringing insight and financial expertise to all discussions and be the financial advisor to the Senior Vice President of the category.

Principal Responsibilities

Annual financial planning and target-setting

  • Design & execute strategic financial plans for business
    • Oversee financial forecasting, evaluation, and budget analysis for the category
    • Own consolidated dashboard of financials, trade efficiency, and A&C efficiency for category
    • Drive Strategic and Annual Operating Planning to meet top-down targets
    • 3-year, annual and quarterly brand financial plan ownership
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance; provide insights around ongoing financial performance, trends, KPI, R&Os
  • Drive variance analysis; partner with Supply Chain & Sales to mitigate variance against budget

Business management and ownership

  • P&L ownership -gross sales to EBIT
  • Category risk management - identify risk and drive mitigation plans across the category
  • Heavy partnership with sales finance and marketing to improve visibility on trade and A&C efficiency. Lead team to take action to drive improvements.
  • Identify initiatives to improve the brand's revenue and gross margin improvement with emphasis on year-over-year improvements
  • Co-own A&C resources allocation decisions with the team - where best to utilize the funds.
  • Drive SG&A efficiency within the category

Strategic initiative support

  • Evaluate major business ventures and financial feasibility; oversee all category-related capital allocation
  • Lead interactions with M&B Planning and Analytics team
  • Lead financial analysis of innovations within the category
  • Thought leadership on how AI / automation will be used to drive more insights and action plan
  • Internal Reporting for category including monthly and quarterly business updates, forecasts and analysis

Cross-functional leadership and support

  • Engage proactively with category leadership to offer financial insights & manage overall P&L
  • Collaborate with broader finance team (including Supply Chain, Sales finance, FP&A, and Sales leads) to drive alignment and synergy in broader financial strategies
  • Actively participate in IBP processes, contributing financial expertise to cross-functional planning
  • Leverage center of excellence resources in the organization where appropriate

Minimum Requirements

  • 15+ years financial or operational analysis experience
  • Bachelors Degree in finance or related discipline

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • CPG related experience with brand finance, sales finance, supply chain finance, and FP&A experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience leveraging AI / automation to drive insights and action plan
  • Experience defining / creating KPIs to generate more visibility for the team

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$125,500-$209,300

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
