Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Academic and Student Affairs, the Assistant Director of Career Development at the Center for Data Science (CDS) is responsible for leading the development and implementation of career and professional development programs and forming strategic industry partnerships to enhance educational offerings and advance student career prospects. The Assistant Director will achieve these goals by developing a comprehensive career development program framework, providing personalized career counseling, and managing career development events such as workshops and career fairs.

The Assistant Director is also responsible for marketing these services to students, actively engaging industry partners for the MS Capstone course collaborations, and coordinating with the CDS leadership team to optimize career resources for CDS graduate students. Additional duties include tracking and analyzing student placement data, producing reports, and occasionally supporting the Director of Academic and Student Affairs in alumni engagement and lifelong learning activities.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Student Affairs or Higher Education Administration

Required Experience:
3+ years 4 years of relevant experience. Must include experience with career advising, planning and administering events and activities, proven record of building and cultivating higher education institution & industry relationships.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to take initiative and consistently meet deliverable requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Able to interact with individuals at all levels with utmost professionalism. Excellent event management and project management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. High level of organizational skills. Superb attention to detail. Ability to prevent and solve problems.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $68,000.00 to USD $88,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
