Job Description:

Engineering Planners (New Product Planners) will perform the following tasks in support of Product Engineers:

  • Create new product documents based on documents/data based on inputs from a variety of sources and track them through the approval process to completion.
  • Create manufacturing part codes and associated customer part numbers with all relevant data used to define how to manufacture finished goods items.
  • Create electronic work orders to start or change engineering wafer lots in internal fabs or create purchase requisitions to start engineering lots in external fabs based on Product Engineering need.
  • Create electronic work orders for the probe, assembly, final test, or qualification of new product material through backend manufacturing working closely with our counterparts in Microchip Thailand.
  • Create purchase requisitions for masks, wafer, equipment, and services.
  • Track engineering material from wafer start through to finished goods.
  • Create all instructions related to releasing a new product to production in Microchip systems.
  • Maintain accurate part data in Microchip systems.
  • Communicate with a variety of groups such as engineering, marketing, manufacturing, information services, document control, mask shop, production planning, wafer fab, etc. Participate on acquisition teams as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and/or minimum of 5 years experience in semiconductor product planning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

    Preferred Skills

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred
  • APICS Certification
  • Microsoft Access experience
