Overview

Origination & Advisory Technology aims to build long-term, trusted and mutually beneficial relationships with the major corporates, financial institutions, financial sponsors and sovereigns around the world. The teamconsumes billions of records for reporting, deep data analysis, and advanced data science, and provides Deutsche Bank front office a clear view on client's activity and profitability. We are building aninteractive analytical platform, defining and tracking key business metrics, helping front office in day-to-day business decisions across Europe, APAC, and Americas, As a Data Engineer you will be part of product team, responsible for all steps of bringing high-quality data to end users: ETL processes, data analysis and preparation, platform development and evolution. We are looking for engineers with strong design and coding skills, team players, motivated and self-driven, with a passion for software engineering and the ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment.

What You'll Do

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and data loading from a wide variety of data sources using batch and stream processing

  • Manage end to end ownership of delivery from requirements to production release and 3rd level support

  • Conduct complex data analysis and prototyping to identify new insights for the Business

  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality

  • Ensure architecture supports business requirements

Skills You'll Need

  • Good knowledge of Java/Scala, Structured Query Language (SQL),data modelling principles and best practices in DWH design (Kimball, Inmon, Star/Snowflake schema)

  • Experience with data ingestion technologies from heterogenous sources (Relational Database Management (DBMS), HTTP requests, streaming)

  • Experience with data storageformats for structured and semi-structured data (Avro, Parquet,)

  • Analytical skills and analytical thinking, good skills in written and spoken English

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Experience with Apache Ecosystem (Spark, Hive, Hadoop) and columnar DBMS (pref. Clickhouse).Oracle DB knowledge, Kafka, Global Control Programme (GCP)/AWS, andrelated stack is a plus

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
