About the role:

As a Product Researcher, your expertise in research methodologies will help us deliver superior workplace learning experiences across the globe.

As a member of the Wiley Assessments business unit, the skills you bring will unlock human potential and help people build the skills they need to advance their careers and lives. Working across all functions of the Product Innovation Team, the insights you uncover-both qualitative and quantitative-will deepen our understanding of customer behaviors and drive innovation that addresses critical market needs.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop a deep understanding of all customers in our product value chain.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of product developers, designers, analysts, and internal stakeholders to create a 360-degree view of the customer experience.
  • Use your expertise to recommend and execute appropriate research methodologies-both qualitative and quantitative- and set the cadence of delivery expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal, cross functional stakeholders to set research objectives, generate hypotheses, and evaluate testable data metrics.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to understand the competitive landscape, helping key business leads formulate a future vision of the industry.
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uncover patterns and insights through moderated and unmoderated research through surveys, field studies, and other methods as required.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value improvements, enhancements, or roadblocks to the user experience.
  • Present unbiased, data-defensible research findings to colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Create compelling and easy-to-understand debriefs and documentation of your insights.

We are looking for people who:

  • 3+ years of experience conducting primary research, using a variety of methodologies appropriate to a given research objective.
  • Proficiency with a diverse set of research tools, with a proven ability to learn new tools and applications as needed.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to tell a story backed with data.
  • Comfortable switching modes between emotive and data-driven research practices, and the ability to communicate findings relevant to a given audience.
  • Demonstrable intellectual curiosity and objectivity.
  • Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills.
  • Ability to pivot and thrive in an evolving, fast-paced environment.
  • Completion of Qualtrics certification and product research programs preferred.
  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, with the ability to dive into a project with limited oversight or supervision.
  • Ability to own multiple priorities and shift focus between projects without compromising attention to detail or project goals.
  • Data visualization skills a plus.

This range represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting.
