Reports to: Family Link Plus Clinical Supervisor
Location: (FT) Flexible Hybrid, Field work in the Bronx required
Schedule: 9:00am - 5:00pm /Evening hours as necessary to accommodate working families
Salary Range: $40 - $46K*
*New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.

Position Overview:
The Family Link Plus Case Aide is responsible for providing advocacy, supportive and educational services to families involved in the Child Welfare System. Promotion of quality services, family empowerment and provision of support to family members are central features of this position. The Case Aide functions as a sponsor and guide to the child welfare system for the parents/caregivers referred to the Family Link Plus Program.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Work in collaboration with other staff members of the program to provide supportive services that meet the needs of children, youth and families.
  • Conduct home and field visits per the standards of the program.
  • Provide advocacy and referrals for the family in the community to assure their needs are being met, including but not limited to drug and alcohol rehabilitation, mental health services, health services, education, day care, housing, vocational guidance, employment and financial entitlements.
  • Outreach and make presentations to schools, early intervention programs, clinics, and other community-based service providers.
  • Comply with NYC Children's Services Standards and Indicators for Purchased Preventive Services and duties outlined in Program Manual.
  • Escort and transport children and families when necessary.
  • Participate in the completion of assessments of family needs, i.e., families' concrete needs, service plans and other assessments as needed.
  • Attend and participate in Family Team Conferences and assist the family in being comfortable participating in the conferences.
  • Attend weekly supervisory sessions with the Supervisor and monthly staff and other required programmatic meetings.
  • Encourage families toward success and maintain a positive attitude towards the family's ability to be successful in improving family functioning.
  • Assist Case Planner in obtaining medical, immunization and educational records for all children on caseload on a yearly basis, and more frequently when required.
  • Complete required documentation in a timely and orderly manner utilizing the computer, such as progress notes in Connections and contacts in PROMIS.
  • Attend a minimum of 42 hours of required and job related in-service training sessions annually.
  • Works with socially, economically, culturally and ethnically diverse groups in a mutually respectful manner using a strengths-based approach.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate support groups and Parenting Classes.
  • Perform crisis response services, as required.
  • Work flexible hours when required.
  • Other duties, as assigned/ needed.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Needs a high school diploma or equivalent to one.
  • Spanish required
  • The Case Aide should have at least a year experience navigating the mental health, substance use, educational and/ or child welfare systems. We encourage candidates who are a parent/caregiver of a child with serious emotional and/or behavioral challenges or have a history of Child Welfare involvement to apply.
  • Experience in community organization, group facilitation, and computer skills are helpful.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel and conduct field work
